Scars of Remembrance

1. My scars of remembrance.

Working for Andy Kearney, I got a blister sanding. It made me think
of him.
When I go running, the pain makes me feel good.
I am reminded of God often.
I got a scar the year I was saved. Every time I cut it, I think of him.

2. God's scars of remembrance.

So what about me remembering God. Does he remember me?
What reminds God of me?
He has a scar of remembrance. Very tangible. The nail scars in his
hands.

But Zion said, "The Lord has forsaken me, my Lord has forgotten me."
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should have no
compassion on the son of her womb?
(A rhetorical question. What's the answer?)
(Once you start breast feeding, it hurts to stop. Ask mothers if they
can forget their young child.)
Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have
graven you on the palms of my hands;
(this is prophetic -- 700 years before Jesus)
(Have you ever gotten a cut on the palm of your hand? I have
skateboarding. You cannot function for more than a while without
noticing it. You cannot grasp anything. Sitting down in a chair, you
set your hand down. You favor it until it is better.)
(And it is not "mankind" that is written on his hands, but "Curt.")
your walls are continually before me.
(Ask for other translations, other meanings.)
(I think it means -- I see what you see).

--Isaiah 49

3. God's scars are permanent.

I check in and out of practicing his presence.
Does he check in and out of practicing my presence?

No. Like a camera in a grocery store. I might forget that it's there,
but it never stops filming me.

He Said "Your walls are continually before me."

Did the nail scars heal? No.

After road to Emaeus. "As they were saying this, Jesus himself stood
among them. But they were startled and frightened, and supposed
that they saw a spirit. And he said to them, "Why are you troubled,
and why do questions rise in your hearts? See my hands and my
feet, that it is I myself; handle me and see; for a spirit has not flesh
and bones as you see I have."
(note, also on his feet. He cannot take a step without remembering
us.)
--Luke 24:36-39

Doubting Thomas. "So the other disciples said, "We have seen the
Lord."
But he said to them, "Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails,
and place my finger in the mark of the nails, and place my hand in
his side, I will not believe." Eight days later, his disciples were again
in the house, and Thomas was with them. The doors were shut, but
Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you."
Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and see my hands;
and put out your hand and place it in my side; do not be faithless,
but believing." Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God."
--John 20:25-28
(The scars are still there)
(If Satan ever says "God has forgotten you," just remember the scars.
Jesus cannot forget you. It is impossible.) See Jesus hand with your
name on it.
